The Chairman of the AOI discusses with representatives Higher Committee for Integrated Industrial Partnership the localization of the technology of manufacturing an Arab electric car

Major General  Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, stressed the importance of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to strengthen cooperation with brothers in the Arab countries and to exploit national manufacturing capabilities to deepen and increase local manufacturing rates and localize technology, pointing to the importance of achieving Arab industrial integration. Increasing added value and limiting imports, thus contributing to strengthening the implementation of the strategic plan for industrial development of the Arab countries and increasing export opportunities and fields.

This came within the framework of the meetings of the Higher Committee for Complementary Industrial Partnership, which were held in Cairo from 19 to 21 March 2023.

These meetings come within the framework of the directives of the political leadership of the member states of the Supreme Committee to strengthen partnership and exploit the capabilities and energies available in the four countries (Egypt, UAE, Jordan and Bahrain) to reach integration among the participating countries in all industrial fields to achieve an Arab industrial renaissance.

During the meeting, which took place at the Main Center  of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the localization of the technology for producing a joint Arab electric car with local components was discussed through the resources available in the countries participating in the committee.

In this regard, Mokhtar Abdel Latif expressed the Arab Organization for Industrialization's aspiration to enhance industrial cooperation and integration with its brothers in the Arab countries, indicating that the organization represents the locomotive of Egyptian industry and contributes to various fields of industrial renaissance in accordance with Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030, pointing to the interest of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in linking Scientific research in the industry, and transforming research into innovative products and services that represent scientific solutions to societal problems and challenges, thus achieving a knowledge-based economy and localizing the industry.

 

He added that the Arab Organization for Industrialization still enjoys an international status, expressing his aspiration to strengthen the partnership between the organization and the brothers in the Arab countries by putting all its advanced manufacturing capabilities to serve and meet the studies and plans carried out by the committee to reach a comprehensive Arab industrial renaissance in accordance with the latest mechanisms of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

During the talks, he stressed the importance of speedy completion of executive procedures for the production of the joint Arab electric car to participate in the COP28 climate conference in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and to complete the production stages to cover the needs of Arab countries for these environmentally friendly cars.

 

Within the framework of these discussions, the committee held a meeting at the of the Arab American Vehicles Company (AAV), which is affiliated with the authority, with Major General Eng. It can contribute to reaching the production of an Arab electric car with capabilities and energies, and with Arab design and thought.

In this context, the funding sources, project management method, timeline, manufacturing stages in each of the countries of the coalition, the companies participating in the production of the car, the steps taken by each company in the different stages of manufacturing, and the participation rates of these companies in the production process were discussed.

The committee was keen to inspect the production lines of the AAV company, as it praised the development of the production lines and the technological capabilities available in the company, which are no less than those of the major international car manufacturers.

 

In a related context, the Higher Committee for Complementary Industrial Partnership conducted several visits to a number of factories and companies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and a number of private sector companies operating in the field of auto-feeding industries in the Egyptian market, to get acquainted with the nature of their work and to achieve the desired integrated industrial progress for the Arab countries.
