Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), and Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, witnessed the signing of contracts and agreements in the field of environmental protection and conservation projects.
In this context, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif expressed his appreciation and pride in the constructive and ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Environment in various industrial fields, including environmental protection projects, solid waste management, and other areas of cooperation.
He emphasized the AOI's commitment to implementing the country's comprehensive development plan and implementing the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to utilize national manufacturing capabilities and maximize the "Made in Egypt" slogan.
For her part, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, expressed her happiness with the cooperation with the AOI, which began the journey and journey of the municipal solid waste management system with the Ministry of Environment under the leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic when the state decided to establish an integrated solid waste management system, in line with its drive towards expanding industrial development.
She noted that the Ministry of Environment is working at all levels; To reuse agricultural waste, either alone or mixed with animal waste, to produce biomass.
The Minister of Environment added that this waste can also be used in cement factories to reduce the use of coal, which contributes to saving foreign currency. She added that the Egyptian state is capable of managing the investment portfolio efficiently, whether through partnerships with the private sector, focusing on scientific and technological research for each input or each waste, or through its contributions to implementing projects on the ground that support economic development and provide green job opportunities.
In the context of the Arab Organization for Industrialization's efforts in the field of environmental protection and conservation projects, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif explained the signing of a contract to establish a joint project to recycle used tires between the ATICO Wood Industries Factory and Green Avenue for Treatment and Recycling (an Asian company).
The project will involve a production line for recycling used tires with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons as a first phase.
The project will also include safe disposal of used tires through manufacturing and creating added value by producing products of economic value.
He also pointed to the agreement to sign a cooperation protocol between ATICO Wood Industries Factory and BIKEM Industrial Investment and Sustainable Development Company, noting that this cooperation is focused on manufacturing wood pallets from agricultural waste, as a means of converting biofuel into energy used in some strategic industries, such as cement factories.
In a related context, Major General Eng.Mokhtar Abdellatif emphasized the Arab Organization for Industrialization's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, various public and private sector companies, and scientific research centers to implement numerous environmentally friendly projects to meet the needs of the local market at competitive prices for various environmentally friendly products.
. For his part, Mr. Max Ku, CEO of Green Avenue for Treatment and Recycling , expressed his pride in cooperating with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the industrial backbone of the Egyptian state, and its manufacturing expertise across all industries.
He highlighted its excellence in environmental protection projects, adding that this cooperation will represent a significant addition to the Egyptian economy, especially as we will work to design and manufacture equipment and production lines in the organization's factories using global expertise and technology, contributing to achieving sustainable environmental development and projects of mutual interest.
For his part, Dr. Wael Hassan El-Noubi, CEO of BIKEM Industrial Investment and Sustainable Development Company , expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, expressing his aspiration to localize wood pallet manufacturing technology by optimally utilizing the organization's national manufacturing capabilities to meet all the needs of the local Egyptian market and Arab and African countries, in accordance with the latest international quality standards.
