Major General., Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Dr. Hani Swilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (represented by the Department of Mechanics and Electricity) to carry out construction, renovation and maintenance works for power stations. In this regard, Major General., Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, stressed the importance of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance constructive cooperation between state institutions and to exploit national manufacturing capabilities to deepen and increase local manufacturing rates, localize technology, achieve industrial integration, increase production capacities, and limit from import.

He praised the cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in many fields of industry, noting that it was agreed on cooperation and industrial integration to implement Egypt's Vision 2030 and to manufacture national products with Egyptian raw materials, under the slogan "Made in Egypt".

He explained that the areas of cooperation aim to deepen local industrialization through the implementation of the construction, replacement, renovation and maintenance works necessary for irrigation and drainage stations, raising the efficiency and maintenance of the stations, and the supply, installation and maintenance of pumps of all kinds and capacities through the engines factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and the lifting units of the Department of Mechanics and Electricity of all types and capacities. And the supply of various spare parts, in addition to various supplies of engineering projects, electrical appliances, machinery, equipment, insurance and monitoring systems, etc., to serve the water system in Egypt.

For his part, Dr. "Hani Sweilem" stated that the signing of this protocol comes within the framework of the directives of the political leadership to deepen local manufacturing and reduce imports.

Dr. Sweilem praised the role of the Arab Organization for Industrialization as the industrial backbone of the Egyptian state and its distinguished expertise in the implementation of various industrial projects, in addition to its technological competence that enables it to carry out work in accordance with the latest international quality standards, which prompted the ministry to benefit from the manufacturing capabilities of the organization in the field of Establishment, development and renovation of all irrigation and drainage stations at the level of the governorates of the Republic.

He added that the Department of Mechanics and Electricity specializes in many prominent tasks in the field of irrigation and drainage, as it undertakes the management and supervision of the operation and maintenance of the existing irrigation and drainage stations, as well as the irrigation and drainage pump stations that are being established, as well as planning for the establishment of new stations according to the needs of the water resources system and in coordination with the authorities. other concerned ministry.

He pointed out that the Department of Mechanics and Electricity plays an important role in meeting the water needs of all sectors through the establishment, replacement and renovation of irrigation and drainage stations and the establishment of new stations, where the Department operates and maintains a number of (585) a variety of irrigation, drainage and mixing stations, and is responsible for raising water from the river The Nile, the winds, the main and secondary canals to deliver water to agricultural lands, drinking water stations and other uses, in addition to raising water from agricultural drains, and also to (37) floating stations, most of which are located in Aswan Governorate to serve about 40 thousand feddans and a number of drinking water stations.
