Chairman of the AOI and Ministers of Agriculture and Business Sector They are looking to develop agricultural mechanization machines

Major General., Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Mr. Al-Qaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector, discussed ways to develop agricultural mechanization machines, and the advancement and development of Egyptian cotton production and industry, and industries based on it, and the national project to develop the spinning and weaving industry.

 

In this regard, Major General., Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, stressed the importance of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance constructive cooperation between state institutions and exploit national manufacturing capabilities to deepen and increase local manufacturing rates, localize technology, achieve industrial integration and increase production capacities. and reduce imports.

 

He praised the cooperation with both the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Business Sector in many fields, indicating that it was agreed on cooperation and industrial integration to implement Egypt's Vision 2030 and to manufacture national products with Egyptian raw materials, under the slogan "Made in Egypt".

 

He explained that the areas of cooperation aim to deepen local industrialization by benefiting from the manufacturing capabilities of Arab Industrialization to develop and modernize agricultural machinery used in agriculture in a way that serves the agricultural system and ways to rationalize water use, as well as cooperation in the field of developing the many manufacturing industries related to the plan to develop the textile sector.

During the talks, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Al-Qaseer, expressed his admiration for the device for measuring the percentage of moisture in the soil, which is produced by the electronics factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, as he issued directions to purchase approximately 1,000 devices initially to be used in various agricultural operations.

 

For his part, Mr. Al-Qaseer emphasized that supporting the farmer comes on top of the priorities of the political leadership, to improve his standard of living and increase his income, given his important role in achieving food security, and his constant keenness on continuous production.

Al-Qaseer pointed out the importance of encouraging farmers to grow cotton, through the application of contract farming, and studying setting a guarantee price to buy cotton from farmers, which is done through auctions, so that the purchase price is not less than the guarantee price to be determined, to improve the farmer’s standard of living. The minister added that a sufficient amount of cotton seed was provided to grow 500,000 feddans, which were offered to farmers in agricultural associations in various governorates, within the framework of the crop’s varietal map.

In a related context, the Minister of Agriculture stressed the importance of expanding the use of agricultural mechanization, especially those that serve small farmers, by providing agricultural machinery and equipment such as harvesters, collecting and leveling machines to reduce costs, improve productivity, and save time and effort.

 

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of the Public Business Sector, confirmed that the national project for the development of the spinning and weaving industry is being implemented, starting with cultivating areas of short-staple cotton to reduce its imports, providing the needs of the private sector for thicker yarns, developing mills, operating oil presses and fodder factories through partnerships. With local and foreign investors, the development of spinning and weaving factories and the construction of new factories leading to the development of the final product of clothing and marketing for new brands such as Nate, which began to acquire a market share of the volume of trade and was exported to many countries, indicating that the development includes the stages of dyeing and equipment, as well as training workers and qualifying them to deal With the latest technologies in the field of industry and used in the development of factories

Dr. Esmat added that the Ministry of Public Business Sector is implementing a plan to gradually expand the cultivation of short-staple cotton, in full coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, which conducts experiments and research, implements and evaluates them, which aims to increase dependence on locally produced cotton to reduce the import bill due to its many uses in Manufacture of various fabrics and textiles.
