Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, emphasized the importance of participating in the International Exhibition and Conference for Water, Wastewater, Desalination, Water Reuse, and Waste Treatment and Recycling (IWWI 2026).
He noted that the AOI is participating with a prominent and diverse pavilion in the fifth edition of the exhibition—which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Nasr City—held under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, with the participation of its affiliated entities, from October 26 to 28, 2026.
He further explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization has successfully introduced modern scientific solutions and localized the technology for state-of-the-art equipment and techniques in the fields of water treatment (desalination and purification) and the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewater, by leveraging its advanced production capacities and highly skilled human resources. He added that there is significant government interest in encouraging local manufacturing and localizing the pump industry, which paves the way for Egypt to become a leading regional hub in this field. He noted that the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has successfully localized the production of pumps in accordance with international quality standards—a positive step toward realizing Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
He stated that the various types of water pumps feature a high percentage of local content, making them high-quality, locally manufactured products that serve as an alternative to imported pumps. These include vertical, horizontal, submersible, and split-case pumps, available in a range of capacities and power ratings to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, as well as the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.
He emphasized that the Arab Organization for Industrialization is proud of its key partnership with the Ministry of Housing on development projects related to water treatment, as well as the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewater, all under the "Made in Egypt" banner.
In a related context, Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization—one of the state’s robust manufacturing arms—welcomes strengthened cooperation with private sector companies and the attraction of investments. This aligns with the organization’s institutional vision to transform itself into a platform for industrial integration, bringing together advanced manufacturing capabilities from across the nation’s industrial sectors, the expertise and capacity of the private sector, and foreign investments and partnerships. Such an approach fosters integration among these sectors and supports the development of industrial capabilities and competitiveness. The Authority’s pavilion was visited by the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, the Minister of State for Military Production, and the Minister of Industry.
They expressed their admiration for the AOI’s diverse range of products and its manufacturing capabilities—which leverage scientific methods to advance technology—aimed at maximizing local production and facilitating the transfer and localization of modern technologies for water, sewage, and industrial wastewater treatment across various applications.
