The meeting was attended by Major General Eng.Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, General Director of the AOI, along with several heads of AOI-affiliated factories and companies, as well as executives from companies under the Ministry of State for Military Production.
This visit is part of a series of serious initiatives aimed at maximizing the utilization of the manufacturing and production capacities within the defense and civilian industrial sectors of both the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of State for Military Production, thereby contributing to the realization of Egypt’s Sustainable Development Vision 2030.
During the meeting, Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr , Chairman of the AOI, expressed his appreciation for Major General Dr. Engineer Salah Soliman Jamblat, Minister of State for Military Production, noting that the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of State for Military Production serve as the two pillars of Egypt’s military-industrial sector. In line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to deepen local manufacturing and facilitate the transfer and localization of technology, it was noted that a collaborative partnership is already in place.
This cooperation contributes to increasing the value-added of the national industrial sector, meeting the needs of the domestic market at competitive prices, reducing imports, and boosting exports.
There is ongoing, serious coordination and integration to structure this collaboration across both defense and civil industries, implement national development projects, and promote the "Made in Egypt" initiative.
It was further explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has successfully designed and manufactured products and components previously imported from abroad, meeting the requirements of various industrial sectors in accordance with international quality standards. Additionally, the AOI supports the implementation of scientific innovations that have practical industrial applications.
The AOI possesses significant engineering capabilities, including advanced production lines capable of adapting to the latest global industrial developments. This positions the organization as a key partner for the Ministry of State for Military Production in executing its plans and objectives for comprehensive, sustainable development.
To maximize the utilization of manufacturing capacities across the AOI’s facilities and the companies under the Ministry of State for Military Production, the importance of establishing a joint coordination committee was emphasized. This committee would develop mechanisms for meaningful industrial integration in the production of civil goods, create a joint marketing strategy—guided by precise scientific steps and defined timelines—and facilitate cooperation in the unified procurement of raw materials, thereby strengthening diverse production processes between the two sides. In a related context, the Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) extended his best wishes for success, progress, and prosperity to the Ministry of State for Military Production and all its employees, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Ministry’s founding.
For his part, Major General Dr. Eng. Salah Soliman Gamblat, Minister of State for Military Production, emphasized that the collaboration between the Ministry and the AOI—particularly in the defense sector—has been both fruitful and long-standing. He noted that both sides remain committed to sustaining this constructive partnership, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has called for greater integration among state institutions. The goal is to maximize the use of the advanced manufacturing capabilities of both entities to bolster national industry, deepen local manufacturing, and reduce reliance on imports.
Gamblat added that the Ministry of State for Military Production possesses an advanced industrial and technological base that serves the needs of the Armed Forces and the police. Furthermore, the Ministry leverages the surplus production capacity of its affiliated companies to support the civilian sector and actively participate in the execution of various national development projects. The Ministry operates within a unique, integrated framework comprising 15 industrial companies, four firms specializing in information systems and construction, a maintenance company, and a center for scientific and technological excellence. The Minister of State for Military Production highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to implementing presidential directives aimed at localizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, strengthening strategic partnerships with both domestic and international private-sector companies, and opening new markets for Egyptian products. These efforts are intended to support the state’s drive toward sustainable industrial development, in line with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
The Minister emphasized the importance of establishing a joint coordination committee—with members meeting on a regular basis—to foster cooperation and integration between the Ministry and the Authority. This initiative aims to align perspectives, unify visions, and ensure both sides operate with a shared mindset and a common language, acting as a single entity with the ultimate goal of serving the national interest. He further underscored the necessity of ongoing coordination in the execution of various national projects, as well as the integration of efforts in manufacturing, the expansion of export opportunities, and the opening of new markets for Egyptian products. Such collaboration is designed to generate added value for the national economy and maximize the utilization of the capabilities available to both parties.
