Signing an international cooperation agreement between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and lieutenant general, Abdel Moneim El-Terras, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Organization for Industrialization via Video Technology, witnessed the signing of an international cooperation agreement between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the French Computer and Advanced Technologies EPITA; With the aim of preparing trainers and launching a diploma program in the field of artificial intelligence for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

 

The signing of the agreement comes to achieve benefit from the French experience in artificial intelligence and in the framework of the Egyptian-French cooperation, which is witnessing a strategic development at all levels; Especially in the field of communications and information technology.

 

The agreement was signed by Dr. Aida Al-Sabban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electronics Factory, and Dr. Geo Quartois, Director General of the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies EPITA; The signing activities were attended by Counselor / Amr Al-Rashidi, Deputy Ambassador of Egypt to France, Eng. Jalestan Radwan, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Artificial Intelligence, and Eng. Rabie Haddad, Director of International Programs at the French Faculty of Computer and Advanced Technologies.

 

The duration of this agreement is five years, and it aims to develop a joint educational program between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the French College, and to create an effective system for transferring knowledge through training 160 Egyptian trainers and enabling them to apply curricula for post-graduate diplomas in the field of artificial intelligence; Under the agreement, the coaches who are nominated by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will teach the entire diploma program, which will be made available through the Institute of Information Technology (ITI).

 

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized that the cooperation agreement comes in the light of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s keenness to establish global partnerships to transfer knowledge and build the capacities of Egyptian youth in the fields of advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence and data science technologies, to keep pace with the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution and in what contributes In the implementation of Egypt's digital building projects, the agreement also comes within the framework of implementing the national strategy for artificial intelligence, which is sought through the preparation of specialized competencies in artificial intelligence technologies and finding practical solutions using these technologies to address the challenges facing Egyptian society.

 

Dr. Amr Talaat added that capacity building is a priority for the Egyptian government. Noting the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's keenness to implement its strategy through which it seeks to place Egypt on the map of the leading countries in the field of communications and information technology, and to provide specialized training to prepare young cadres on the latest areas of digital technologies to meet the needs of the local market and to enhance its competitiveness in global markets; We thank the Arab Organization for Industrialization for its efforts to conclude this agreement for the benefit of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

 

lieutenant general, Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, also affirmed that the organization has always sought, through continuous coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, to implement the directives of President “Abdel Fattah El-Sisi” to transfer and localize information technology and build capacity in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, data science and information technology And the Internet of Things in order to meet the needs of the state and implement its directions in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, in accordance with the country's national strategy for artificial intelligence; He explained that through this agreement a 9-month post-graduate diploma program will be implemented in the field of artificial intelligence where it is planned that the French experience will be transferred to train a group of Egyptian trainees for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to train human cadres later on this technology .

 

 

 

lieutenant general,Abdel Moneim El-Terras stated that the Arab Organization for Industrialization has always been keen, through its various factories and production units, to pay attention to training its engineers and technicians on the latest methods of digital transformation and industrial digitization through cooperation with major companies, academies and international universities. It is also keen to meet the needs of Egyptian youth to face challenges in a rapidly changing digital world, especially in light of the current pandemic, to implement the State's 2030 strategy for sustainable development.

 

Counselor / Amr Al-Rashidi, Egypt's deputy ambassador to France, stressed that the Egyptian telecom and information technology sector is one of the sectors that receives attention and is a source of attraction for French companies' investments. Noting that the agreement will contribute to building cadres in the field of data science and artificial intelligence; Noting the visit of the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology to France last September, which witnessed extensive talks with the French side to cooperate in implementing the Egyptian state's strategy to achieve digital transformation; He also praised the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to create a strong industry in the field of artificial intelligence that contributes to advancing efforts to achieve digital transformation.

 

On his part; Dr. Goyal Quartoet, Director General of the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies, EPITA, expressed his pleasure at signing this agreement, which aims to achieve long-term joint cooperation in order to transfer knowledge to Egyptian trainers in the field of technology and develop the skills of Egyptian youth; Noting the successes achieved by the French College, EPITA, for more than 35 years in the field of education, which depends in its programs on continuous development and enabling the trainee to achieve linkage and communication with industry developments and scientific research.
