A structured and integrated institutional framework to ensure best technical practices and governance in management and operation, and reliance on local manufacturing to support the sustainability of solar energy systems .
Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif , Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and the Authority with the aim of establishing a company specializing in the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic solar energy systems on rooftops across the Republic.
. The protocol was signed by
Major General Engineer Abdelrahman Abdelazim Othman, General Director of the Arab Organization for Industrialization,
and Engineer Gaber Desouky , Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity holding company.
This cooperation comes within the framework of the state's energy strategy and the work program of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, which supports, encourages, and expands solar energy projects on building roofs.
It also comes in light of the action plan to increase reliance on renewable energies in the energy mix and ensure the security and sustainability of the electricity supply, grid stability, and continuity of electricity.
The protocol comes within the framework of the fruitful partnership and cooperation between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to localize industry, replace imported products with local ones, and invest in national expertise, complementing the joint work carried out during the past period in various fields, including improving the efficiency, operation, and maintenance of solar energy projects by establishing a company and developing a structured and integrated institutional framework to ensure best technical practices and governance in management and operation, and relying on local manufacturing to support the sustainability of solar energy systems and ensure the stability of the national electricity grid.
The protocol stipulates the initiation of the necessary procedures to determine the organizational structure of the new company, contribution ratios, and management and operation mechanisms, within the framework of the national plan to expand the installation of solar energy systems on private, public, and government buildings.
The protocol includes a review of relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements, with the establishment of a scalable business model that promotes cooperation between the public and private sectors in renewable energy services and contributes to achieving energy security.
. In this regard, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, expressed his appreciation and pride in this cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and its support for all aspects of joint industrial cooperation and integration , emphasizing the Arab Organization for Industrialization's interest in maximizing the slogan (Made In Egypt).
He explained that a joint venture between the two sides is being studied for high-quality operation and maintenance services, including system inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, system improvement, performance monitoring, and technical support for solar panel installations throughout the Arab Republic of Egypt, by leveraging the advanced manufacturing capabilities of the Arab Renewable Energy Company, one of the companies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, noting that this is a starting point for enhancing future cooperation in various investment projects that meet the growing needs of renewable energy projects.
He stated that the Arab Organization for Industrialization looks forward to supporting the national plan to expand the installation of solar energy systems on public and government buildings and land, as well as private buildings and land, and all green economy projects.
Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif also confirmed that the Arab Organization for Industrialization has an ambitious plan to meet all the needs of the local market in the field of solar power generation, and even to enter into regional competition at competitive prices, pointing to the strengthening of our manufacturing capabilities and production lines with all modern digital manufacturing systems.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat emphasized the importance of evaluating mechanisms and managing and supporting the spread of solar cell systems on building roofs, explaining that support will be provided by all possible means within the framework of the governing rules and in light of the national energy strategy and reliance on renewable energies. He praised the fruitful and constructive cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization and said that the protocol is a continuation of cooperation and partnership with the organization, referring to the action plan to expand the solar cell industry.
emphasizing the improvement of service quality and ensuring the continuity and stability of electricity supply, and continuing to work on strengthening, developing, and modernizing the unified network to increase its capacity to absorb generated capacities, increase energy demand, and high loads. adding that the protocol is an important step within the framework of the ministry's strategy and strengthening the partnership with state institutions, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
