Signing of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement with French company Sofema in the field of aircraft engine maintenance and overhaul.
As part of the Arab Organization for Industrialization's leading role and distinguished position in localizing the latest technologies in the defense industry, the organization continues to strengthen its international partnerships with major global companies.
During the third day of the EDEX 2025 International Defense Exhibition, a memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation agreement was signed between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the leading French company Sofema in the field of aircraft engine maintenance and overhaul.
The agreement was signed by Major General Eng. Gamal Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Engine Factory, one of the Arab Organization for Industrialization's factories.
In this context, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, expressed his pride in cooperating with Sofema, praising its extensive experience and excellence in the field of aircraft engine maintenance and repair.
He explained that the agreement includes cooperation in the overhaul, maintenance, and repair of the LARZAC engine used on Alpha Jet aircraft, relying on the advanced technical and technological capabilities available at the Engine Factory.
The AOI's Chairman emphasized the Authority's aspiration for its factories, particularly the engine factory, to become a regional center for cooperation, technology transfer, and exchange of expertise with Sofema, in order to meet the needs of the Egyptian Armed Forces and support sisterly and friendly countries.
For his part, Mr.Frédéric Tisserand , Chairman of the Board of Directors of the French company Sofema, expressed his pride in cooperating with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, noting that the organization is one of the leading entities in the defense industries at the Arab and African levels. He emphasized that Sofema adheres to strict quality standards, which he found to be efficiently applied within the AOI's engine factory, thereby enhancing the chances of success for this cooperation.
