Establishment of the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, signed a joint cooperation protocol; To establish the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology, Cairo Governorate, as of the academic year 2022/2023.

In this context, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Tariq Shawky, said that developing technical education is one of the main pillars to achieve the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030, by graduating a student who is able to think and is technically and technologically capable, able to compete locally and internationally, and is fully qualified. 5 years ago, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education prepared a strategy to develop technical education; To make technical education an integrated and advanced system in accordance with the needs of development plans and the labor market, by establishing a quality assurance and assurance authority, developing study programs based on a merit system, improving teachers’ skills, providing them with many training programs, engaging business owners, and changing the societal image of technical education. .

 

With regard to the applied technology schools, Shawky explained that the applied technology schools contributed greatly to achieving the ministry’s strategy to develop technical education in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. It was for partnership with the private sector and a balance between the theoretical and practical sides through the application of curricula based on the system Competencies and practical training in the factories and companies of the industrial partner has a remarkable role in developing the capabilities and skills of technical education graduates. The Ministry witnessed the graduation of the first batch of applied technology students in the previous academic year 2021/2022, and through the ministry’s follow-up to their career path, we noticed the strong demand from companies towards employing them for what they possess. Of skills and experience that are fully up to date with the latest developments in the labor market.

 

Shawky concluded, expressing his happiness that the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology has joined the applied technology school system, stressing that it will become a scientific edifice specialized in the fields of mechatronics, renewable energy, railways, welding, CNC programmed operation, and autotronics (cars), and the door for progress will be opened. To join it next July through the Ministry of Education and Technical Education website, and the conditions for joining will be announced next June.

 

For his part, the "Terrace" stressed the importance of participating in implementing the directives of President "Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi" to develop technical education and meet the needs of industry and development, noting that technical education is Egypt's hope to achieve the next industrial shift and the workforce that operates factories.

The "Terrace" praised the initiative of the Ministry of Education and the efforts exerted in it to advance the national industry through the establishment of specialized technical schools for all modern professions and disciplines, which would contribute to supplying the labor market with technical employment with advanced scientific and professional specifications supported by practical application in accordance with advanced study programs that keep pace with the developments of the labor market.

 

Al-Terras explained that it was agreed to establish the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology, pointing out that we aim with this school, to attract young people towards studying modern technology disciplines, allowing them to provide new job opportunities for graduates of technical education that address future professions.

 

He added that the training takes place within the framework of advanced study programs and international standards, explaining that the duration of study at the school is three academic years, and the final exams are held at the end of the third grade, and students who succeed in the final exams are awarded a certificate of completion of the study for the technical secondary school diploma for applied technology, the three-year system from the Ministry of Education The technician, in addition to experience certificates approved by the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

 

In a related context, the Terrace stressed the importance of changing the Egyptian culture with regard to technical education graduates, and the need for concerted and cooperative state institutions to contribute to solving the problems facing Egyptian technical labor and working to raise its efficiency and competitive value in the local and Arab markets, stressing that technical education is the basis of the Egyptian industry. .

As part of the signing of the cooperation protocol, Dr. Tariq Shawqi inspected the production lines of the electronics factory affiliated with Al Arabiya Industrialization, where he praised the quality of the factory’s products including tablets, laptops, interactive screens and surveillance cameras.

He stressed the importance of exploiting these advanced technological capabilities within the framework of the education development system with advanced smart systems.
