Helwan factory for developed industries was established in 1978 as one of The Arab Organization for Industrialization "A.O.I" units. Helwan factory was working in the field of Helicopter production and maintenance.
Also, Factory production varies to include several of civil and military fields. Helwan's workshopes are supplied with central conditioning systems, fire protection systems, doubledoors to protect from dust. Helwan factory has the best experienced labour specialized in Helicopter industry, overhaul maintenance and repair.

• Helwan Factory was established in 1978 as a joint-venture company between AOI & Westland Company (British) for Helicopter production (LINKS model).

• The joint-venture company became the Helwan Factory for Developed Industries in July 1994.

• Fiberglass products have started for preparing athletic constructions and stadiums. This came in addition to electrical switchboards, turbine blades for the generation of wind power, laboratory preparations and schools to serve the education industry

• In 1997, Helwan factory introduced Polyethylene pipes’ production lines (high & medium density), its fittings for water, sanitation and natural gas

• By this, Helwan Factory pioneered in these industries both in Egypt and the Middle East.

• Helwan Factory established a new line for the production polyethylene pipes up to 1600 mm diameter and different bars for national projects’ infrastructure

• The Factory established a new depot line for Helicopter Mi8

•  A major milestone came into being up the transformation of the Helwan Factory from a joint-venture firm to becoming the Helwan Factory For Developed Industries HFDI in 1994, a point at which the startup of civil product lines production were initiated.

• Starting the production of polyethylene lines rendered the Helwan Factory the pioneer in this production in Egypt since 1998. 

• Helwan Factory owns Deep Survey line for Gazelle Helicopter approved by Airbus Company

• Helwan Factory houses an advanced pipeline factory up to 1600 mm diameter and different bars.

• All employees, specialists and management cadres are specialized in concluding helicopters’ maintenance and depot, producing polyethylene pipes and fiber glass.
