Protocol for cooperation between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and Alexandria University

Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim El-Terras, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, affirmed the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to strengthen constructive cooperation between the country's industrial and research institutions and to exploit the national manufacturing capabilities to deepen local industrialization and to localize the technology for designing and manufacturing equipment for water desalination plants and the use of renewable energy, in accordance with quality standards. Globalism .

This came during the signing of the joint cooperation protocol between Arab Industrialization and Alexandria University, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Aziz Hassanein Qansouh, President of the University.

Within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed at the headquarters of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, "The Terrace" praised the experiences of Alexandria University and its scientific and research centers specialized in the field of seawater desalination, well water and wastewater and industrial treatment, explaining the agreement to form a joint technical committee to deepen the local manufacturing of special equipment and technologies. With seawater desalination plants and pumps, and manufacturing them with the Egyptian national expertise, to provide for the expenses of importing the components that are used in the manufacture of desalination plants, and to localize this industry in a way that contributes to reducing the price per cubic meter of desalinated water and achieving a high added value for the national industry.

The "Terrace" pointed to the importance of strengthening joint cooperation to discuss successful models of technical and economic feasibility at Alexandria University, which can be applied at the industrial level by transferring research outputs to the scale of quantitative industrial production, pointing out that the areas of cooperation aim to meet the needs of the local market and national projects, and expand in the future. For African and Arab markets.

The "Terrace" also confirmed the agreement to prepare and implement training programs for technology transfer for the design and local manufacture of the target products, and to train technical personnel on desalination and processing technologies and after-sales services for technical cadres determined by the Arab Organization for Industrialization in cooperation with Alexandria University, as well as providing the necessary support for research work. And developing and making use of research and applied studies at the university, and conducting market studies for targeted products locally and abroad.

For his part, Dr. Abdel Aziz Kansoua, President of Alexandria University praised the pivotal role played by the Arab Organization for Industrialization in introducing the latest production technologies and deepening local manufacturing in accordance with international quality standards, pointing to the importance of strengthening cooperation with Arab Industrialization to reduce the economics of establishing seawater desalination plants within the framework of The government’s approach to finding non-traditional alternatives to water resources, expanding the establishment of seawater desalination plants, especially in coastal cities, in addition to increasing the production and capacity of some existing stations.

He added that, in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, we aim to build a national scientific and technological base in the technologies of the water desalination industry and the use of renewable energy through technological development and innovation, pointing to the importance of reaching the minimum percentages of the local component in various industrial sectors to a ratio of approximately 100%. And ultimately contribute to achieving the main goals of sustainable development.
