Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), is participating in the "Egypt 2026" Forum, held from October 19 to 24 under the theme "A Look at Today… A Vision for Tomorrow."

This participation aligns with the AOI’s vital national role and its successful initiatives to deepen local manufacturing, localize technology, attract domestic and foreign investment, support national industry, bolster exports, expand the production base, foster collaboration with the private sector, and improve the business climate.

During the session titled "Towards Productive Investment, Competitive Industry, and Sustainable Job Opportunities"—one of the forum’s most significant sessions—

Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr  highlighted the organization’s institutional vision: to transform the AOI into a platform for industrial integration.

This platform aims to bring together the state’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, the expertise and potential of the private sector, and foreign investments and partnerships. Such integration is intended to strengthen synergy across these sectors and support the development of industrial capacities and competitiveness. He explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) comprises 14 factories and companies with a workforce of approximately 12,000 employees. He noted that the organization’s strategic objectives include allocating 5% of its revenue to scientific research and development, as well as supporting projects and innovations led by young people. Furthermore, plans are in place to establish partnerships with six international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) by 2027, with a target of achieving 20% growth in exports.

The Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization highlighted the importance of supporting the implementation of scientific and research-based innovations that have industrial applications. He noted that the organization has focused on backing four youth-led innovations and startup projects, including the development of control devices and smart systems for use in agriculture and water treatment plants; artificial intelligence systems for medical equipment and hospitals; state-of-the-art "smart classroom" solutions and interactive devices—developed with Egyptian expertise—as well as cutting-edge smart city technologies.

Additionally,    Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr outlined the vision of the Arab Organization for Industrialization—serving as the state’s industrial backbone—regarding the future of investment and the national economy. He discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the business community, and presented practical working papers on the most effective pathways to foster growth and strengthen the Egyptian economy’s capacity to navigate regional and international shifts. Through its participation in the forum’s activities, the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) is showcasing various success stories in localizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies across new industrial sectors. This includes meeting the requirements of industrial sectors in accordance with global quality standards, as well as opening new export avenues to friendly and partner nations—all in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.

The forum also highlights the AOI’s significant role in executing development projects, both domestically and in several African partner nations. Discussions will address key challenges facing manufacturers and investors, explore ways to enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian workforce, and improve the working environment. Furthermore, the agenda covers the future of employment and the skills required, as well as the alignment of education and training systems with the actual needs of industrial facilities.

Additionally, the forum explores promising investment incentives and opportunities, along with efforts to localize advanced industries in partnership with the AOI. It underscores the organization’s role in increasing the value-added of the national industrial sector, reducing imports, and offering sophisticated industrial products at competitive prices. This is made possible by leveraging the AOI’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and a workforce trained in the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution across all of its factories and companies.
