Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr , Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), received Dr. Engineer Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, Minister of State for Military Production, during the events of the Alamein International Air and Space Show 2026.
The meeting addressed several topics, including ways to enhance cooperation and industrial integration between the two sides and efforts to attract investments in alignment with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Vision 2030.
During the meeting, Major General Eng. Mohamed Abd Elfatah Abo Bakr expressed his appreciation for Dr. Engineer Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, noting that the AOI and the Ministry of Military Production serve as the two arms of Egypt's military industry. He highlighted that cooperation between them is already well-established—in implementation of the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi—to deepen local manufacturing and to transfer and localize technology. These efforts contribute to increasing the value-added of the national industry, meeting local market needs, reducing imports, and boosting export rates.
He further noted the existence of serious coordination and ongoing integration to organize this cooperation across both defense and civil industrial sectors.
He explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) aims to expand cooperation and partnerships with major global companies across various brotherly and friendly nations. This effort leverages the advanced manufacturing capabilities of the AOI’s factories and subsidiaries, its trained workforce, and its extensive expertise in both defense and civil industrial sectors. He highlighted the AOI's vital role in designing and manufacturing products and components previously imported from abroad, as well as meeting the needs of industrial sectors in accordance with global quality standards.
For his part, Dr. Eng. Salah Soliman Jumblatt, Minister of State for Military Production, expressed his best wishes for the continued success and progress of the AOI. He emphasized that the organization stands as a distinguished industrial institution and a strategic pillar for the Egyptian state in achieving goals related to deepening local manufacturing and localizing modern technology. He noted that the AOI possesses engineering capabilities—including advanced production lines adaptable to the latest global industrial developments—making it a pivotal partner for the Ministry of Military Production in executing its plans and objectives for comprehensive and sustainable development. He explained that the Ministry of Military Production operates within a unique, integrated system comprising 15 industrial companies and four specialized entities—including firms dedicated to information systems, construction, and maintenance, as well as a Center of Scientific and Technological Excellence. As a key pillar of national industry, the Ministry possesses an advanced industrial and technological base that meets the needs of the Armed Forces while supporting the civil sector and deepening local manufacturing capabilities. Furthermore, the Ministry works to localize cutting-edge technologies, strengthen strategic partnerships with global firms and the private sector, and open new markets for Egyptian products, thereby supporting the state’s drive toward sustainable industrial development and the realization of Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals.
