Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), and Dr. Luca Costa   , CEO of the International Welding Institute (IIW) in Italy, witnessed the opening of the  AOI Academy  For Welding and Joining   in Helwan.

This training facility was established with advanced programs and a clear scientific vision, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide training for the future in the areas of automated management of manufacturing processes and digitization, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of officials and stakeholders from the industrial, technical education, and training sectors.

During the opening ceremony of the AOI Academy  For Welding and Joining  , Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif expressed his pride in the AOI's cooperation with the International Welding Institute (IIW) in Italy, to ensure the best educational and training environment for trainees.

He explained that The  AOI Academy For Welding and Joining  is internationally accredited by the IIW. He explained that we aim to prepare a new generation of technical personnel specialized in welding and assembly technology according to the highest international standards, and to grant accreditation certificates to trainees capable of innovation and creativity in manufacturing fields. Through this, we aim to raise local manufacturing to the highest levels of global competitiveness.

He added that welding is one of the dominant professions and skills in the industry, requiring skill and reliability for practicing welders, given its connection to the heavy and advanced industries operating within the Arab Organization for Industrialization, such as train and metro carriages, vehicles, aircraft, metal industries, and defense industries.

He pointed out that the academy has been developed and equipped with various types of high-quality digital control machines and equipment, as well as multi-system control devices, to qualify and enhance the efficiency of workers. Furthermore, the training programs have been professionally designed to include theoretical and practical training in welding techniques through three skill levels (basic, advanced, and professional), within laboratories equipped with the latest equipment that simulate actual work environments.

He explained that, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, a school for applied technology in the field of welding was established within this academy to graduate a generation of welders specialized in all types of welding professionally.

He expressed the Arab Organization for Industrialization's aspiration to become a national center representing the Arab Republic of Egypt for training all workers in the field of welding and assembly technology, both in sisterly and friendly countries, according to the latest digital manufacturing systems. This will contribute to achieving the desired goal of implementing the mechanisms of the Fourth Industrial Revolution across all sectors of Egyptian industry.
