These new and ongoing successes demonstrate the AOI's commitment to supporting the Egyptian state's industrial strategy, with its advanced manufacturing capabilities and skilled human resources. AOI's implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development aims to deepen local manufacturing and localize technology, and its excellence in carrying out repair, maintenance, and overhaul work on various operating and production machines for public and private sector institutions, according to international quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
In this context, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the AOI, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with all ministries and government and private institutions, as this is the optimal path to achieving comprehensive development.
He explained that the Engine Factory, one of the AOI factories, successfully completed the complete overhaul of a giant high-speed steam turbine, in terms of:
• Implementing precise measurements, inspection, chemical analysis, and non-destructive testing using the latest high-precision equipment.
• Providing raw materials and repair supplies in record time to expedite repairs and restore serviceability.
• Manufacturing machining fixtures for turning and grinding turbine components, in addition to manufacturing dimensional matching gauges for bearing housing parts according to the required engineering specifications.
• Implementing major repair procedures for turbine components, including:
- Advanced chemical washing using steam and dry ice techniques.
- Precision machining and grinding using the latest precision and specialized machines.
It used to be the norm to send these important and sensitive parts abroad for extended periods, sometimes up to a full year, for repair and maintenance, before returning them to be installed in nitrogen fertilizer factories across Egypt.
He noted that this success was achieved by leveraging the manufacturing capabilities of the aircraft factory and the electronics factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
He explained that the repairs and overhaul were carried out with high technical efficiency and precision, over 25 days of continuous hard work, and with a strong will to succeed in this project, which is being undertaken for the first time in Egypt.
He emphasized that this achievement is evidence of the Arab Organization for Industrialization's advanced human, technological, and technological capabilities, and its ability to address the most complex industrial malfunctions in record time. This contributes to supporting the state's efforts to deepen local manufacturing and reduce dependence on foreign sources.
He also explained that the Arab Organization for Industrialization seeks to contribute to meeting the needs of various industrial sectors in Egypt and neighboring and friendly countries for manufacturing equipment and production lines, rather than having them repaired abroad. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining investment equipment, which is considered Egypt's industrial wealth.
In a related context, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Major General Eng. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Electronics Factory, Major General Eng.Gamal Ramadan, Chairman of the Engine Factory, Major General Eng. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Aircraft Factory, and all the workers at these factories for this industrial achievement. He urged them to continue their efforts and dedication to advance the national industrial progress.
