Triple talks to enhance joint cooperation to produce electric cars

Mohamed Salah El-Din, Minister of State for Military Production, met with Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector, and Major General. Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman  of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mohamed Salah El-Din, Minister of State for Military Production, welcomed the guests, pointing out that the meeting is the first meeting after the ministerial formation, which is evidence that coordination is continuing and agreement on integration between the three parties is achieved to achieve the desired goal of producing an Egyptian electric car that competes with international cars in quality and price.

He added that this meeting comes in light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to enhance aspects of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the various state institutions and to optimize the use of national manufacturing capabilities to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development. The production of electric cars, which the state attaches great importance to keeping pace with the global technological development in its production and working to transfer and localize the technology of this industry in Egypt.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Military Production's plan includes the necessity of keeping pace with the increasing global trend of electric transport and preserving the environment by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and heat emissions, and in this regard, the Ministry has cooperated with a private sector company to produce the electric bus SETIBUS, as well as converting diesel buses to work. gassed

He affirmed the Egyptian government's belief in the necessity of involving the private sector in the national projects that are being implemented and increasing the opportunities available to investors, stressing the importance of agreeing on a map of integration and industrial thinking that would benefit the country.

The Minister of State for Military Production added that during the meeting, issues of future cooperation of common interest in many fields were also discussed, stressing that the main mission of the Ministry of Military Production is to meet the needs of the Egyptian Armed Forces, while ensuring that the surplus production capacities of its various companies are maximized to meet the needs of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Citizens’ needs of various civil products and contribute to the implementation of many development projects.

For his part, Eng. The Minister of Public Business Sector stressed that manufacturing an electric car in Egypt is a dream that we seek to achieve soon, and that this project comes at the top of the priorities of the Ministry of Public Business Sector and will not be waived in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and the government in this regard and the dream of the Egyptian street man to provide an environmentally friendly Egyptian electric car with international quality and prices He is therefore keen to follow the latest developments in the file, especially as the whole world is turning to electric cars and green transportation in general to significantly reduce and reduce harmful carbon emissions.

For his part, Major General. Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif,Chairman  of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, said that electric cars are the topic of the hour, and that Egypt is able to localize the technology of the electric car industry through the distinguished capabilities and expertise available in its national institutions, pointing out that the production of electric cars in Egypt will represent a civilizational shift, as efforts will be made towards Achieving the manufacture of an electric Egyptian car with international specifications, and that care will be taken to train and prepare skilled human and technical cadres in this specialized industry in accordance with the mechanisms of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, stressing the need to develop an action plan that includes mechanisms to prepare for any form of cooperation and technology transfer.

Abdel Latif stressed the keenness of the Arab Organization for Industrialization to implement the state’s plan to deepen local industrialization, localize advanced technology, implement Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the goals of the new republic, including the implementation of the national strategy for green transformation, within the framework of belief in its national role as an important industrial backer for the state, and its participation in the implementation of National and development projects and the realization of the state's plan to return the Egyptian industry to its leading role in the region.
