The Prime Minister inspects the "Benya" optical fiber factory, in partnership with the AOI

 

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, continued his tour today with a number of projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Ain Sokhna Port, accompanied by Major General . Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and Mr. Al-Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, Major General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Governor of Suez, Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Development of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and a number of officials. The Prime Minister and his entourage visited the "Benya" factory for fiber optic cables, one of the "Benya" group companies, which is established in partnership with the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

 

The Prime Minister listened to an explanation from Eng. Ahmed Makki, Chairman and CEO of the "Benya" group, who confirmed that the "Benya" factory is the largest factory for optical fiber cables in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, and was established on an area of ​​60,000 square meters. It is currently in the trial operation phase, and it is planned to cover Egypt's needs for fiber optic cables and be exported to the countries of the region, which contributes to achieving the state's plan to increase exports, localize the technology industry, support local manufacturing and maximize the slogan (Made in Egypt).

Makki added that the Benya factory for optical fiber cables is the result of the partnership with the Arab Organization for Industrialization in alliance with the American Corning. The percentage of the Egyptian component in the products, and the factory’s production is expected to reach about 25,000 km of cables and about 4 million km of optical fibers annually.
