Arab Organization for Industrialization

The Chairman of the AOI , the Minister of the Public Business Sector, and the Deputy Minister of Housing, emphasized the importance of 3D printing and Digital machines

Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, and Dr. Engineer Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, emphasized the importance of leveraging national manufacturing capabilities and enhancing cooperation to manufacture spare parts for various industries using 3D printing and digital machinery, in line with Egypt's Vision for Sustainable Development 2030.

This came during a workshop on "Manufacturing Spare Parts Using 3D Printing and Digital Machinery," held in cooperation with IMMESNA, a leading company in the field of digitizing and manufacturing spare parts using 3D technology. This collaboration represents the integration of digital machinery technology and 3D printers into manufacturing.

This workshop was held at the Digital Manufacturing Center (DMC) at the Arab Organization for Industrialization's (AOI) Engine Factory. The workshop was attended by Major General Eng. Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, General  Director of the AOI, and AOI leaders, in addition to representatives from IMMESNA and its CEO, Eng. Fahmy El-Shawa. Representatives from the Ministries of Transport, Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Electricity, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and companies from the Ministry of Public Business Sector were also present.

During the workshop, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif expressed the AOI's aspiration to enhance cooperation with the public and private sectors, in coordination with research and scientific bodies, to utilize the distinguished manufacturing capabilities of the Digital Manufacturing Center at the Engine Factory and all AOI factories and companies to manufacture the required spare parts using 3D printing technologies and digital machines

. He noted that a study is underway, a list of all required requirements is being developed, and manufacturing will begin immediately.

He emphasized that the Arab Organization for Industrialization possesses all the distinguished manufacturing capabilities to implement this advanced technology to meet all spare parts needs and implement the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to increase local manufacturing rates, localize technology, reduce imports, and promote the "Made in Egypt" slogan.

He explained that manufacturing spare parts using 3D printing and digital machines is an innovative process that allows companies to produce specialized, high-precision spare parts on demand, faster, and more efficiently. This technology enables the design and production of unique spare parts or parts that are no longer available in the market. He noted that there are successful industrial applications for manufacturing spare parts using 3D printing, including those in automotive, aircraft, industrial equipment, and medical equipment.

During the visit, the Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Minister of the Public Business Sector, the Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and the attendees toured the Digital Manufacturing Center affiliated with the Engine Factory. They inspected the center's departments, its state-of-the-art water pump manufacturing equipment, and a display of various products.

During his inspection of the center, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif pointed out that the AOI    realized of this advanced technology early on and achieved leadership in this field by establishing a digital manufacturing center equipped with the latest global technologies in accordance with the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and with trained human resources according to the latest digital manufacturing systems.

This center has localized the technology for manufacturing pumps of all types and uses. He noted that the center can meet all industrial needs in accordance with international standards of precision and quality.

For his part, Eng. Mohamed Shimi emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships and integration between national industrial institutions, noting that adopting modern manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing has become an urgent necessity to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian industry, reduce dependence on imports, and increase local employment rates.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the national role of the AOI in supporting the state's strategy for replacement, renewal, and technology localization, emphasizing that this workshop represents a practical step towards enhancing industrial integration between various government agencies and fruitful cooperation with the private sector in the field of industrial digital transformation.

Engineer Mohamed Shimi pointed out that the Ministry of Public Business Sector is currently implementing a comprehensive plan to modernize its subsidiaries, including digital transformation and technology localization. He highlighted the importance of adopting smart manufacturing solutions and establishing practical partnerships that contribute to reducing dependence on imports and enhancing local added value, especially in strategic industries.

For his part, Dr. Engineer Sayed Ismail emphasized the Egyptian state's interest in and full support for local products, encouraging the localization of electromechanical industries, and encouraging local industrial developers to form partnerships with global industrial entities and open new factories. This is part of the state's plan to open new markets within Egypt and export to African and Gulf countries at competitive prices, contributing to increased demand for local products and applying local preference through the ministry's affiliated entities.

The Deputy Minister of Housing expressed his happiness with what is being achieved by the Arab Organization for Industrialization through cooperation with IMMESNA , a leading company in the field of "digitization and manufacturing of spare parts" and the constant pursuit of development and continuous research to raise the level of the local product and increase the percentage of the local component, which will achieve a qualitative leap, especially in spare parts for electromechanical tasks in the drinking water purification and wastewater treatment systems. It will also be a continuation of the close cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and the Arab Organization for Industrialization, stressing the Ministry's full support through continuous directives to its affiliated bodies to enhance the application of local preference.
