Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister held a meeting to review the strategy of resettling the auto industry in Egypt, in preparation for submitting it to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, soon, and the meeting was attended by Major General Mohamed Assar, Minister of State for Military Production, Hisham Tawfiq, Minister of Public Business Sector, and engineer Kamel, Minister of Transport, Nevin Jama, Minister of Industry and Trade, Lt. Gen. Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and a number of officials of the relevant authorities. At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out the importance that the political leadership and the government attach to the localization of the auto industry in Egypt, explaining that this will be done through the implementation of the auto industry strategy, and he was also tasked with uniting efforts and visions between the ministries and relevant authorities to present a unified strategy for the auto industry to the President of the Republic. Madbouli added: The strategy will be presented, and with it a program to stimulate the collective transportation of work with natural gas, including public transport buses, pointing out the importance of having a product of gas-powered "minibuses" safer and more effective, and that there be agreement on technical specifications in this regard To send to the manufacturers. He also stressed the need to start preparing the infrastructure for manufacturing electric cars, as well as studying the announcement of incentive policies for this sector. During the meeting, an integrated vision was presented about the transportation industry and its components, which are based on three main axes: the continuation of the activity of the existing factories, the attraction of strategic investors for the purpose of export, and the gradual transformation of the use of sustainable transportation. It was also indicated that the axis of the gradual transformation of the use of sustainable transportation means relying on natural gas fuel for public transport (buses), the expansion of the use of natural gas fuel in taxis, participatory transportation and government and private passenger cars (Al-Maliki), and the gradual transformation of the use of electric vehicles . The meeting included a review of the proposed policies to encourage the manufacture and spread of electric cars, which are the infrastructure required to be provided in this regard, in terms of types of electric vehicle charging devices, the availability of charging stations, electricity pricing for charging electric vehicles, as well as the required legislative environment, investment incentives and incentives granted to the consumer Ultimate, the market is available for this type of car, and mechanisms to stimulate the demand for electric vehicles
