An agreement between “Dakahlia” and “Arab Industrialization” to develop and qualify the waste recycling site in Sindoub

Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development, and Dr. Ayman Mokhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, witnessed, on Sunday, the signing of an agreement contract between the Ministry, the Governorate and the Arab Organization for Industrialization, to complete the implementation of the work of developing and qualifying the municipal waste recycling site and the safe transfer and disposal of waste at a dump site in the governorate's health landfill.
This comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to the government to quickly take urgent steps to implement the new system of municipal solid waste management in all governorates.

Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Shaarawy said, "The government is seeking, under follow-up by the Prime Minister, to implement the new system of municipal waste to overcome the problems of garbage accumulation and safe disposal and stop environmental degradation through a new system for integrated waste management."
He revealed that the total value of the contract that was signed amounted to about 238 million pounds, where the implementation process will be completed within 6 months, adding that he had assigned the executive unit of waste in the ministry to develop a sustainable plan for the development of the system within the governorate and the speed of visiting all treatment and final disposal sites in the areas of Sindoub, Qalabsho, Sinbillawin, Aga and Manzala To prepare the plan
Shaarawy explained that the executive unit inspected all sites in the governorate and developed a comprehensive concept to solve the problem, especially after the withdrawal of the company based on the treatment and recycling operations of waste in the center and city of Mansoura and all its districts and centers, which required urgent intervention from the ministry to find a solution to this problem and not to exacerbate the accumulation of waste and affect health and safety Citizens.
The Minister of Local Development said that the sandub dump will be disposed of because there are large historical accumulations in it for more than 20 years, which caused the suffering of citizens due to the continuous ignition in the garbage, and the Sandoub factory will be developed and the area allocated to it added by adding a second line to recycle all the generated waste that It is estimated at 1,200 tons per day for safe handling and disposal, which will benefit the public and environmental health of the residents of that region.
For his part, Dr. Ayman Mokhtar, the governor of Dakahlia, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi for the efforts he is making during the current period to help the province in solving the garbage problem and implement the new system of solid waste to achieve citizens' satisfaction in the governorate for that important service and restore the cultural face of the governorate streets.
Mukhtar added that all necessary permits and licenses will be extracted, the site allocated and handed over to the Arab Organization for Industrialization, for the speedy implementation of the agreed contract.
The governor of Dakahlia confirmed that this signature also comes within the framework of implementing the President’s directives to build the Egyptian person and provide an appropriate environment where, through continuous cooperation between the Ministry of Local Development and the governorate, this important agreement was reached to solve the cleaning problem in the governorate.
