Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today, Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, to follow up on the position of the projects implemented by the Authority, in the presence of a number of officials of the Authority and specialized factories.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the importance of working on the localization of the membranes industry for seawater desalination, as well as everything related to the needs of the utilities sector, such as pumps, meters, pipes, etc., in addition to the localization of the automobile industry, indicating that there are directives and continuous follow-up from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, addresses these files and places them on the priority agenda.

At the beginning of the meeting, Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras reviewed the efforts of the Authority's contribution in the areas of deepening local manufacturing, technology transfer and participation in national and development projects, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in this regard, in order to achieve the state's future vision, explaining that the efforts It included working on the localization of water treatment technology, whether related to sewage water, drinking water purification, and desalinating sea water, as well as efforts related to the digital transformation file, developing production lines and modernizing machines for a number of industrial sectors, in addition to efforts to transform the use of natural gas as a source of clean energy. And an alternative to traditional fuels, as well as participating in efforts to address the Corona virus, and participating in new and national projects.

The team referred to the position of a number of projects, explaining that among those projects, whose implementation has been completed, is the June 30 factory for polyethylene pipes (water / natural gas), which has an investment cost of 200 million pounds, and produces 26,400 tons / year, It contributes 40% to the local market, in addition to establishing lines for the manufacture of medical masks, with a production capacity of 300,000 masks per day, and investments estimated at $2.5 million.

The head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization added that one of the projects that have been completed is the project to produce smart electricity meters, with a production capacity of 240,000 meters / year, with a local component of 50%, pointing out that 350,000 single-sided meters were produced for the Canal and South companies. Delta for electricity distribution, in addition to the production of 10,000 three-phase meters for the South Cairo Company, and about 77 thousand meters (units to connect / disconnect the current from street lighting poles).

Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras referred to the tablet and laptop production project, where the installation of 2 lines for the production of tablets, laptops and mobile phones was completed, trial operation began, and factory technicians trained on quantitative production, explaining that its production capacity is scheduled to reach 300,000 devices/ Year.

Regarding the production line of cameras in cooperation with the American company "Honey Well", the team indicated that the production line was approved by the Visual Monitoring Committee during the middle of last year, and the production capacity of the line reaches 30,000 cameras/year for the "Honey Well" product, and 300,000 Camera/year for other products, at an investment cost of about $500,000.

The head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, during the meeting, addressed the project to develop the Simav factory, explaining the steps and procedures that have been implemented in this regard to develop and modernize its production lines, as well as what is related to developing design capabilities and expanding the use of information technology inside the factory, in order to ensure the quality of production. In accordance with international specifications, stressing in this regard that despite the scale of the integrated development work of the plant, production plans have not been stopped and contracts are implemented according to their timing, including the rehabilitation and upgrading of 200 passenger vehicles, the manufacture and supply of 60 power-generation vehicles, and the manufacture and supply of 75 transport vehicles. grains, as well as the manufacture and supply of 10 metro trains with a total of 80 vehicles.

The team discussed the position of establishing the Arab German Company for Secure Traffic Boards, as well as the construction of a water pump manufacturing line, explaining that vertical pumps of all kinds were produced with capacities up to 500 l / s, and lifting up to 60 m, and it was approved by the competent authorities with a local manufacturing rate of 80%, Pointing out that it is planned to manufacture submersible pumps by the end of next October, and drinking water pumps in the middle of next year, noting the position of the project to manufacture interactive screens, in response to the needs of the Ministry of Education, which is scheduled to produce 100,000 screens / year.
